I just signed up with a new account, what do I need to do to get started

There are several things you should do on a new account.

NAME SERVERS:

First the domain name must have the name servers pointing
to our server. These have to be setup with your domain name
registrar. If we registered your domain we can take care of
this for you. If you bought your domain elsewhere you will
need to change the nameservers to the ones listed below at
your registrars website.
Our nameservers:
ns1.okie.net
ns2.okie.net
ns3.okie.net
ns4.okie.net

If you bought a reseller account email support@okie.net and
we will set up private nameservers on the server for you.
Example of private nameservers:
ns1.yourdomain.com
ns2.your domain.com

It could take from 48 to 72 hours for the name servers to
propagate throughout the Internet.

ACCESS:

If you want immediate access to your account's cPanel you
can do access it by using your IP address

cPanel access http://IPADDRESS/cpanel

From there you can make changes while you are waiting for
the name servers to propagate.
NOTE: Be sure not to use Fantastico to install scripts if your
domain name is not resolving i.e. you cannot access your
domain via http://www.yourdomain.com

There are many options in cPanel and you can always watch
a our tutorials to see how it is down. The tutorials are flash
movies that will show you exactly how it looks when
performing one of the options.

The tutorials and this knowledge base are not meant to
replace the help desk (support@okie.net) but are there to
assist you in learning how to use cPanel.

We can point you to an address to view your account even
before it properly resolves. You will need to email support for
us to enable this for you.
